Dun Slingin Wimpy ~ Vinnie

Lot# 242

Dun Slingin Wimpy – Vinnie is a four-year-old dun gelding out of the Fortin Quarter Horse program in Oberlin, Kansas. Vinnie has a solid, easy-going mind that is very willing to please and do anything you ask. He is ready to go in any direction, He is good sized and athletic. He was started by his consignor in Oberlin Kansas as a two-year-old and has ridden him ever since. He’s been ridden in the feedlot pulling sick cattle and sorting calves to be put away after treatment, he’s also used to load calves on cattle trucks.

Vinnie is a great traveler; he was hauled from Kansas to south eastern Washington with zero issues. Always willing to get on and off the trailer never missing an opportunity to eat or drink.

Since getting him to Washington he’s been used in a variety of places to ranch/cowboy on. From riding him in the mountains where the timber is thick and the hills are steep, to riding him in rocky scab land where it’s dry and rough. He’s as sure footed as they come. He’s crossed ditches and rivers without hesitation to gather cattle. He dragged numerous calves to the fire after gathering and splitting the pairs. Roped calves outside to doctor and tied off. Vinnie has done a variety of other ranch work from pairing out to pulling bulls. He will watch and stay with a cow when asked not being afraid to go into the herd or to be crowded by an ornery cow. He’s snubbed up a few colts to start without problems too.

Vinnie is always willing to do whatever you ask, with a good attitude and is easy-going but ready to be quick and athletic if asked to be. He will be started in the arena as a heading horse given his good size.
